Welcome to Alibel

A garden, a pool, and a welcome that feels like family.

We are a small family place on the calm south-west coast of Mahé, six individual villas gathered around a tropical garden and a swimming pool, fifty metres from the beach at Anse à la Mouche. Every villa here was designed and built by our own hands, the ceilings and furniture shaped from reclaimed island timber, the paintings on the walls our own. You cook in your own kitchen with fruit from our farm, you meet our giant tortoises, and you are looked after by the people who made the place. Come and stay with us.

Say good morning to a 197 year old.

Alibel has its own family of giant Aldabra tortoises. Thomas is 197, an heirloom passed down through William's family. Melony is 70. Tipti wandered in eight years ago and simply stayed. There is nothing else like it, and it is part of staying here.

Made, not bought

We built this place ourselves.

Alibel was designed and built by Salifa, with her own construction company. The ceilings and the furniture are hand-made from reclaimed island timber. Every painting on the walls is hers. The fruit in your welcome basket is grown on our own farm. When guests say the care shows in every detail, they are telling the plain truth. William dreamed this with her and gave it his all.
